Support Staff
I am thrilled to join the Burns Park team for the 2025-2026 school year. I have worked in AAPS for 11 years and have traveled through most of the schools at one point or another. I have three grown kids, age 26, 23, and 20 and a family dog, Sully. This fall marks our first real round of empty-nesting for my husband and I. Bittersweet for sure. I am passionate about keeping kids healthy and safe and advocating for what they need to attend school.
School Nurse - Ms. Hoffman

Hello! I am the Building Literacy Coach (BLC) at Burns Park Elementary. In this role, I support teachers, families and students in various aspects of literacy learning. As a reading intervention teacher, my goal is to improve students’ reading, writing and spelling skills using research-based literacy practices. During my 20+ years in education, I taught first through third grades before transitioning to this position.
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri but have lived in Michigan since college. My hobbies include reading, playing soccer, and gardening. I love animals, especially dogs. My husband and I have two college-aged sons who attended AAPS and graduated from Pioneer High School. I’m proud to be a part of this diverse and vibrant district, and am excited to be a Burns Park Penguin!
